Whilst relatively new to the world of Beagles, Julieanne has been involved in the showing and breeding dogs for over 40 years! At the age of eight, Julieanne entered her first Junior Handling class at a Dog Show and was hooked....back then it was all about Cocker Spaniels...Danny, a beautiful dog bred by Brightleaf Kennels, was Julieanne’s Junior Handling dog. Together they won many awards, including Runner Up Junior Handler in the 1983 ACT PAL Finals.
From Cocker Spaniels to Golden Retrievers....Ch. Ladykirk Adam (Mork) was Julieanne’s first show Golden. Julieanne and Mork made another very successful team, and in 1986 took second in the Senior Girl’s class of the PAL Junior Handling Finals at the Sydney Royal (Julieanne moved up to the Seniors only a month before the Royal).
In 1990 Julieanne’s ‘once in a lifetime dog’ entered the show ring....Ch. Lalgwyn Charm Huxley (Adam - named after his father!!)...Adam was a ‘stand out’ from the start - not always for his good looks!!! He was an absolute terror as a young show dog, but once he got his act together...well, his record speaks for itself:
...Best of Breed, Sydney Royal 1992
...5 x Best in Show (All Breeds and Specialty)
...over 1000 Challenge points
These days, Julieanne and Paul are the proud ‘parents’ of a pack of Beagles and a Jack Russell Terrier....details of these dogs can be seen on the following pages...
